Staycation- What is a staycation? It is when you want to take a vacation to get refreshed but you can’t get away, so you stay and unplug. God’s principles in the Bible can refresh us and renew us, no vacation necessary. Join us as we look at the ten commandments, where you and I can learn the joy of pleasing God by operating in that sandbox and having fun as we do it.

Staycation (Week 4): Family Trip
A break is a chance to reconnect with loved ones, but even a family trip can trip you up. The command to honor your father and mother is a much about your own well-being as those you love. Come and learn how God can make your family strong again.

Two Insights about this command:
No standard clause
Honor both parents

This command looks different in different stages of life:
Children, teens/Young Adult, and adults

1. Kids: Obey your father mother
16 “Honor your father and mother, as the Lord your God commanded you. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

2. Teens/Young Adults: Respect your father and mother.
3 “Each of you must show great respect for your mother and father, and you must always observe my Sabbath days of rest. I am the Lord your God.
Leviticus 19:3 (NLT)

Adults: Appreciate and Provide for our father and mother.
