Stories- “Good Samaritan: Grace Extended”
Luke 10:25-37
Define Grace- God’s unmerited favor that gives us access to all that God has and is. Grace is something that is given and cannot be earned. Simply put: Grace extended is the receiving of all God is so we can extend it to others.

Jesus tells a story/parable- earthly story with a heavenly meaning.

1. The enemy is a robber!

He (not people) is trying to steal, kill and destroy! John 10:10 (fear, addiction, pride, lust, discouragement, depression, racism, lack, shame)

2. Religion will not bring healing, reconciliation or unity!

Religion will never equal to grace. Religion says you must do this to be worthy to connect to God.
Religion is too busy for grace (James 1:27)

Priest- represents the most elite spiritual position of the day (sacrifices for God)
Levite- represents the passionate worshipers for God

3. God’s love can reach anywhere and anyone, it knows no bounds or limits.

Radical love- This love doesn’t just help it goes beyond what is needed and even says I embrace the risk that comes along.

First AID kit- Action, Include, Determined

The Samaritan said… I will touch your wound (wine/oil: symbolizing cleaning and anointing), I will carry your burden, I will take care of you and see you make it to restoration.

God will reimburse us for our generosity.

Jesus showed compassion on us- He is our good Samaritan
God extends his grace/favor to us and we extend it to others.
