This clip is from Harold Klemp’s 2009 talk “Spiritual Lessons from Living.” For more stories of inspiration, or for information on other spiritual topics, please visit http://www.Eckankar.org or http://www.EckankarBlog.org.
Years ago, Kathy worked for an employer who was not a member of Eckankar. He was of another faith. In fact, he used to make fun of Eckankar.
But after one seminar, he called Kathy in, and he said, “Listen, I know you went to an Eckankar seminar, but I don’t want to talk about Eckankar. I don’t even want you to mention it. I just want to tell you this: Every time you come back from one of your seminars, you’re changed in a positive way. That’s all. You can go.” And that was it.
I noticed this too, way back when I was getting into Eckankar. I’d come home from the seminar, and people would know there was a difference in me. They would ask me all kinds of questions: Did I have a good time? Where did I stay? What was the food like? And, by the way, what happened in the seminar itself? Well, I’d tell them what I could and let it go at that.
This is the sort of thing that happens. They’re all spiritual blessings from living——living and learning. I’m learning every day.
When I got this position, some people thought, Wow, he must have it made. I knew different. I knew better. I knew that at this point, my learning was going to begin in earnest. And, boy, has it ever. It really has. It will get you where you aren’t looking. It’ll blindside you. Surprises will come up, changes in plans——everything.
What you learn is to be a very random individual. You’re earth-based for sure——your feet are here——but Soul is in heaven.
We are Soul. We do not have a Soul; we are Soul. We have a body. We have a human body. And our job is to take the best care of it we can and make it go as far as possible, as well as possible.
So that’s our talk for this evening. Whenever and wherever you go, I want to say to you, May the blessings be, and I love you.
