In this latest edition of our special series of webinars, ASE President Sir John Holman will be joined by Dr Jess Wade – an Imperial College physicist whose one-woman mission to rewrite women scientists into history has captured national attention.

A passionate believer in improving diversity in science, Jess began a campaign in 2018 to create Wikipedia pages celebrating the achievements of female and ethnic-minority scientists – one which quickly snowballed and has seen her named on numerous “Most Influential lists” and awarded a British Empire Medal for for services to gender diversity in science.

The issue of diversity in science is one that comes up again and again within our community, and this is certain to be fascinating discussion of what can – and must – be done in the classroom to address the gender (and ethic) imbalance in science research.
